No single cuisine, no fixed format. Some weeks it's a trained chef in Cardiff, other weeks it's a van in a car park doing the best noodles you've had all year.

Everything below has been eaten more than once before it earned a spot. Tshese are the ones I keep going back to, sorted by category and ranked in the order I'd send you there.

Saving you from bad meals since 2020

Based in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, I am trusted by 54k foodies on Instagram & 20k on TikTok. This page exists for people who actually live here and want to know where to eat this weekend. I am also a proud Uber Eats Partner.

Reviews land on Instagram first, usually with a video, always with my actual opinion. If a place is good, I'll say so.

I’m Wayne Kamans, the creator behind Wayne’s Eats, a South Wales food blog built around honest food content, local recommendations and a genuine love for discovering great places to eat.

Wayne’s Eats started back in 2020 during COVID, purely out of boredom. Like a lot of people, I suddenly had more time on my hands, so I started taking pictures of food from my local takeaways and sharing them online. There was no big master plan, no clever strategy and definitely no idea it would turn into what it has today. I was just enjoying good food and posting about it.

Before long, local businesses started messaging me, asking if I would come and try their food and create content for them. One message turned into another, one takeaway turned into a restaurant, and the rest is history.

Since then, Wayne’s Eats has grown into one of South Wales’ most recognisable food platforms, with a strong audience across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. I now work closely with a wide range of restaurants, takeaways, cafés, hotels, street food traders and hospitality brands across South Wales, helping showcase the brilliant food scene we have right on our doorstep.

For me, Wayne’s Eats has never been about chasing trends. I’m not here just to follow what’s popular or jump on whatever dish is having its moment online. It has always been about good food, wherever that may lead me. Whether that’s an award-winning restaurant, a hidden gem takeaway, a street food stall, a family-run café or somewhere completely unexpected, if the food is good and the story is worth sharing, I’m there.

One of the biggest and longest partnerships has been with Uber Eats, where we’ve been on a mission to shine a light on local independent restaurants and show people just how much incredible food is available across South Wales. Supporting independents and giving local businesses a platform has always been a huge part of what Wayne’s Eats is all about.

A massive part of Wayne's Eats is also my wife, Hayley. She shoots and records the food, the restaurants, the behind-the-scenes moments and pretty much everything you see — while I edit it, post it and do the talking. Honestly, at this point it should probably be called Wayley Eats.

What started as a bit of lockdown boredom has become something I’m genuinely proud of. Wayne’s Eats is about good food, real recommendations, local businesses, community and celebrating the places that make South Wales such a brilliant place to eat.

If you love discovering new restaurants, hidden gems, proper comfort food, street food, takeaways and local independents, then you’re in the right place.

I also run Social Zafari

Growing Wayne's Eats to 53k followers taught me what actually gets a local business noticed online — and what's a waste of a budget. Social Zafari is where I put that to work for other businesses across Wales: social strategy, content that doesn't feel like an ad, and pages people actually want to follow.
